Sometimes auditory and visual senses aren't enough, and touch becomes crucial for learning. Therapists have been trained to use tactile input to teach important oral motor skills. The Z-Grabber® provides Speech Pathologists with a versatile tool for working in and around the mouth, teaching children how to elevate their tongue tip, make a tongue bowl, how to lateralize their tongue, close their lips, or learn a rotary chew. It can be used with or without vibration. When turned on, the Z-Grabber® offers smooth, gentle vibrations for added sensory input, as many individuals find vibration to be calming and soothing.
The Z-Grabber®’s Features:
Designed with portability in mind, the lightweight Z-Grabber® measures approximately 17 cm in length (excluding the yellow tip) and just about 2.5 cm in diameter. Including the tip, it adds an extra 5 cm in length.
One end of the handle is sealed off from the internal components to prevent saliva, water, or moisture from entering while using it in the mouth. The Switch Tip at the other end turns on/off easily and can be removed to replace battery.
It works with a special battery (included) that is not sold in Australian stores.
The chewable "Grabber" loop serves both as bilateral biting/chewing exercise tool and a gripping handle. Please note that while not as "chewy" as the original Grabber, it has a plastic core for secure attachment to the handle.
