Meet the body sock that kids actually want to wear. While every other body sock in Australia comes in a single block colour, ours features a vibrant sports pattern — giving kids the sensory input they need and the look they love.
Made from premium breathable Lycra, this body sock delivers deep pressure and proprioceptive input recommended by occupational therapists for children with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges. Use it at home, in the classroom, or during therapy sessions.
A sensory body sock (also called a body sox, sensory sack, or body pod) is a large stretchy Lycra sack that a child climbs inside. The fabric wraps snugly around the entire body, creating gentle resistance and compression with every movement.
This compression — known as deep pressure input — activates the proprioceptive system, helping children feel calm, grounded, and more aware of where their body is in space. Occupational therapists have used body socks as a sensory regulation tool for decades.
Our sensory body sock is recommended for:
• Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
• Kids with ADHD, anxiety, or sensory processing disorder (SPD)
• Occupational therapists and allied health clinics
• Schools, classrooms, and calm-down corners
• Sensory seekers who crave deep pressure and movement
• Any child who needs help with self-regulation
Age guide: 4 years and up. Suitable for children and teens.
• First patterned body sock in Australia — sports theme that kids actually love
• Premium breathable Lycra — stretchy, durable, and comfortable for long sessions
• Snug fit for maximum benefit — should fit close to the body to deliver proper resistance
• Velcro-free design — safe for sensitive users, no scratchy fastenings
• Lightweight and portable — use at home, school, or therapy clinics
Important: Body socks work through resistance. They should fit snugly — not like a tent. A sock that's too large won't deliver the sensory input your child needs.
• Small — 68 × 108 cm (best for approx. ages 4–6)
• Medium — 68 × 120 cm (best for approx. ages 7–10)
• Large — 74 × 144 cm (best for approx. ages 11–teen)
When between sizes, size down for firmer resistance, or size up for more movement freedom.
These body socks should be a tight fit. They won't work as well if they're oversized
1. Mirror Poses — Child puts their head out the top and holds a funny position for 5–20 seconds. Great for body awareness and core stability.
2. Shadow Poses — Lights off, torch on. Child makes shapes inside the sock while their shadow appears on the wall. A favourite for imagination and proprioception.
3. Animal Walks — Bear walks, crab crawls, bunny hops. The Lycra adds resistance to every move, making animal walks a serious sensory workout.
4. Obstacle Course — Set up cushions and pillows. Navigating obstacles while inside the body sock builds motor planning and coordination.
5. Quiet Retreat — Create a cosy corner where the child can curl up, stretch slowly, and decompress after school or between activities.
• Deep pressure stimulation — calms the nervous system, similar to a firm, full-body hug
• Proprioceptive input — improves body awareness and spatial understanding
• Emotional regulation — reduces anxiety, meltdowns, and sensory overload
• Focus and attention — calming input helps children settle before learning tasks
• Motor skill development — crawling, stretching, and balancing inside the sock builds core strength and coordination
Body socks may be funded under the NDIS as a sensory regulation tool. Please note: body socks are not NDIS-approved for use without a completed risk assessment. Speak with your occupational therapist or support coordinator to confirm eligibility and complete the required documentation before purchasing with NDIS funds.

What is a body sock used for?
A body sock is a sensory regulation tool used to provide deep pressure input and proprioceptive feedback. It is widely used by occupational therapists for children with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges to help with calming, focus, and body awareness.
What size body sock should I buy?
The body sock should fit snugly. Choose a size close to your child's height — the sock should be a tight fit to provide the resistance needed for sensory input. If in doubt, size down rather than up.
Is a body sock the same as a body sox?
Yes — body sox, body sock, sensory sack, and body pod all refer to the same type of product: the stretchy Lycra sack that children climb inside for deep pressure sensory input.
Can body socks be used in schools?
Absolutely. Body socks are a popular sensory break tool in classrooms and are frequently used in calm-down corners and sensory rooms. We offer school and bulk ordering — visit our Schools page for details.
Are body socks NDIS funded?
Body socks may be covered under NDIS funding, however they require a completed risk assessment before they are approved. Speak with your occupational therapist or support coordinator to confirm eligibility.
